And a happy St Valentine's day to you all. If you are going to enter BUTC, then you had better get a move on, since the deadline for entries is before the end of Fri 16th. In fact the tournament has been sufficiently well subscribed that although "A" teams are still guaranteed a slot, any further "B" teams entered will now go on a reserve list.
In line with BUTC's brief of providing a flavour of international level competition, the format of knock-out matches has been slightly altered to keep up with current FITA regulations.
In previous years, a knock-out match comprised of a team of three shooting three arrows each for three ends. From this year, in line with new FITA rules, this changes to those same three archers shooting TWO arrows each for FOUR ends. The mathematically adept will spot this means matches are now out of 24 instead of 27. The time allowed for shooting is cut, proportionally, from 3 minutes to 2 minutes - you still get an average of 20 seconds per arrow.
A reminder that BUSA Indoors entry forms are due on Thu 15th. Also a review of a few recent regional league matches will appear here shortly.
