BUCS Updates, British Results [08/Dec/10]

BUCS Indoors entry information has now been published on the BUCS site, see full article here.

Entry is completed online via your Athletic Union and the Fixtures Live system by the deadline of Thursday 17th February. No late entries will be accepted. The entry fee is £11.50 per person, but institutions will be invoiced directly through the online system, so there is no need to clubs to pay money directly to BUCS. If entries exceed venue capacity then a reserve list will be in operation. Unfilled places on the day will be filled from the reserve list - no substitutions are allowed.

Submit your entry roughly in the order you would like them to participate, i.e. highest priority first. In previous years the cut off point for the larger clubs has been 15 to 17 people. However, don't despair if you get cut - there are usually quite a few no-shows on the day.

In other BUCS news, after another internal review, Ed Curran (ed.curran@@bucs.org.uk) is the new Sports Programme Manager for Archery, with Chris Roberts (chris.roberts@@bucs.org.uk) taking over as Events Co-ordinator for Archery. They replace Tom Gee and Sarah Gandon respectively, BUCS' second change of Archery personnel in four months.

See the BUCS Indoor section of this site.

The British Champs was held in Telford on 4th December and whilst it does not strictly fall under the purview of this website, there were a number of excellent performances from the student archery community. Jenny Jeppsson (Edinburgh) won silver having defeated Heather Reynolds (Cambridge) in the ladies recurve QFs and then Lizzie Bell (Edinburgh) in a semi final. Edinburgh also won the team trophy for the ranking round with a FITA 18 team of 4 total of 2180, Erik Rowbotham, Jenny Jeppsson, Lizzie Bell and Kyshiea George. There were several other students making the top 32 and the knock-out phase, for results in full, see the Indoor Champs results page of the Archery GB website.
