BUTC 2026 has had to be postponed - it was originally scheduled to take place in Exeter on Sunday 29th March.
Logistical issues meant that, through no fault of their own, Exeter were no longer in a position to guarantee the competition could go ahead. Reluctantly, organisers have therefore taken the decision to cancel the event. The intention is to reschedule it for later in the year. UKSAA would like to say a big thank you Cara Mackrory-Jamieson and the Exeter team for the substantial amount of work already put in and also to the other clubs who also expressed an interest.
In 2024, BUTC was postponed into the Easter holidays/early outdoor season and this had a significant negative impact on participation levels. Considering that and the fact we are already into March, organisers have decided that the best course of action now is to repeat what happened in 2022. That year, the competition was postponed until November of the same calendar year. A new bidding process will be run nearer the time.
We will also repeat the change to the eligibility rules from 2022. That is, if you were eligible for BUCS Indoor 2026 you will still be considered eligible for BUTC 2026, even though BUTC 2026 is taking place in the following academic year. That’s in order to avoid archers who are graduating in summer 2026 from missing out.
