Confirmed final SWWU results [09/Sep/26]

Results from SWWU matches 7 (late April) and 8 (shot in May) complete the SWWU season and are now fully updated on UKSAA. Bath won both matches to become SWWU champions for 2025/26, winning the SWWU crown, ahead of Bristol in second, then Exeter. Bristol won both the novice matches to win the novice SWWU title without dropping a point. Swansea were second and also won the compound title.

Elsewhere, SWWU hosted an Open competition.

In match 7, a WA900, Bath scored a shade over 3000, to finish around 200 ahead Bristol, 3007 to 2814. Bristol were themselves 400 clear of the rest of the teams. Harry Lam (Bath) top scored in the match on 786, with Alex Williams (Bristol) on 775. Swansea were third, ahead of Exeter. In the novice match, Bristol were well clear in first, although a 653 from Jude Andrews (Bath) pipped Will Gao (Bristol) by a point.

Match 8, a WA720, was another win for Bath. Archers had their scores converted to 70m (for senior team) or 60m (for novice team) equivalents. Bath won the overall team category with 2049. Second place was on a knife edge, with Bristol scoring 1899 - one below 1900, but one above Exeter's 1898. Alex Williams was top individual on 583, exactly 20 ahead of Hayden White (Bath). Bristol won the novice match, with Will Gao on 419.

So where did that leave everyone? Two wins meant Bath increased their overall lead and they ended on 77 out of a possible 80 points and 6 wins out of 8. Bristol placed second on 69 points, putting a little distance between themselves and Exeter who ended the season third on 65. This is the same SWWU top 3, in the same order, as it has been for the last 3 seasons. Plymouth were fourth. Bath's win was substantially more comfortable than the close finish to SWWU 2023/24 or extraordinary 2024/25 denouement. Bath's hat-trick of SWWU titles takes them to 12 senior SWWU titles overall. Warwick (10 TOUCAN wins) are the only other English club in double figures, although Edinburgh have won the SSS title 16 times since SWWU's foundation in 2001/02.

In the SWWU novice standings, Bristol completed a clean sweep with 6 wins out of 6 matches and 60 points. They win the SWWU novice title for the third time and second time in three years. Behind them Swansea placed second overall on 49 points, with Bath on 43. The compound league was won by Swansea.

Final standings and match results are on the SWWU 2025/26 page.

Outside of the usual university matches, SWWU hosted an open competition, the SWWU Open. This was held under the SWWU banner, organised by Alex Williams. The competition went well and raised a good amount of money which the league can now use for development going forwards. As far as UKSAA is aware, this is the first open competition organised by a league in this way.
