The 2025/26 E-League has concluded with Birmingham as champions and Leicester just about holding off a late charge from Warwick for second place. The 2026 Summer Rankings competition is now in progress. Full E-League results and Summer Rankings information are on the E-League website.
Results from Round 4 (February) and Round 5 (March) were published on that website in April. Two wins for Birmingham meant they recorded a clean sweep - 5 wins out of 5 and a maximum possible 100 points. Birmingham add the E-League crown to a haul this season that already includes the TOUCAN overall and novice league titles, plus two sets of team medals from BUCS Indoors. Birmingham successfully defended the E-League crown from last year and have now won this competition 4 times in all.
Leicester and Warwick both finished on 87 points in second and third place respectively. Leicester kept second place courtesy of a higher 5 round aggregate, but it was close run thing. Over the last two rounds, Warwick wiped out a 4 point deficit and nearly pipped their Midlands rivals on the line. Second place is Leicester's best ever finish, both in the E-League or in any national-level university competition. Also recording their best ever E-League finish (and matching their best ever national result) was Nottingham Trent. Trent accumulated 80 points in 4th place. The battle for fifth was extremely closely fought between Liverpool, Lancaster and Loughborough. Like Warwick, Lancaster had a very strong finish to the season, but were denied on points aggregate by Liverpool, with both teams on 73. Loughborough were seventh on 72. York were best of the rest on 55.
As well as Leicester (2nd) and Nottingham Trent (4th), there were all time E-League best finishes for Lancaster (6th), Sunderland (9th), Aberystwyth (13th) and Kent (17th). Liverpool (5th) exactly matched their best ever E-League results.
In the individual disciplines, the recurve winners were Sophie Roberts and Jake O'Reilly (both Birmingham). Those titles were achieved in contrasting fashion, with Roberts winning 4 out of 5 rounds and cruising to victory with 97 points. The real battle in the female recurve table was for second, between Rohit Ravichandran (Warwick), Alia Fallouh (Leicester) and Julianna Ostrovska (Birmingham). Ravichandran - who had won the first round - held on for second overall with 83 to Fallouh's 82 and Ostrovska on 81. Lamya Majeed (Birmingham) completed the leading group with 77.
In the open recurve field, Jack McKay (Warwick) won the opening two rounds, but didn't enter a score for Round 3 Dec/Jan, which was won by William Addison (Keele). McKay also won rounds 4 and 5 for a total of 80 out of 100 points - but it was not enough. Jake O'Reilly (Birmingham) - with finishes of 2nd-7th-5th-6th-3rd - scored 82 points to scoop the open recurve E-League title despite not winning an individual round. Myles Hulme (Lancaster) was third. Hulme's 72 points secured a first ever individual senior recurve E-League podium for Lancaster. Luke Burch (Exeter) was fourth on 69, with Abdullah Zaman (Leicester) and Jesse Phillips (Lancaster) on 64.
In barebow, Ollie Hicks (Birmingham) swept all 5 rounds for a maximum 100. Roxana Attack (Liverpool) followed two 2nds with three 1sts to rack up 98 points. Josuf Hyseni and Urvi Joshi (both Birmingham) were second - 8 points behind the leaders in both cases. Kian Watkins and Fatemah Baroun (Birmingham) won the compound individual standings. Watkins won the last 3 rounds. No women's compound shot more than 3 of the 5 rounds in total. Toby Perks (Warwick) and Paige Grieveson (Sunderland) were the longbow champions, but similarly no longbow entered scores for all 5 rounds.
Novice open recurve developed into a private battle between Baldip Chohan and William Threlfall (both Birmingham). Neither was outside the top 3 for any of the 5 rounds. After 4 rounds, both were dead level at the top and more than 20 points clear. Chohan came out on top in round 5. Ed Daniell (Loughborough) was third - with two round wins, but two no scores as well. Skyler Airei (Leicester) didn't enter a score in the first Sep/Oct round, but did just enough to take first female recurve novice with 79 points. Airei gradually overhauled Ellie Hitchcock (Loughborough) and Bethany Harding (Birmingham) who finished on 77 and 75. Top novice barebows were Daniel Grant (Leicester) and Heather Li (Birmingham).
E-League 2026/27 will restart on 1st September 2026, with Round 1 running throughout September and October. Scores will be due by early November. Details will be confirmed nearer the time.
In the meantime, the Summer Rankings competition is running in 2026 after something of a hiatus. A separate editorial will follow, but if you will be shooting at least three outdoor competitions between April and August, you can probably have a go.
