2015 is now upon us, even if hoverboards are not. Reminder that the closing date for BUCS Indoors entries is 22nd January, with the entry form for BUTC to be published shortly. The closing date for this is likely to be in late January/early February.
There is some unreported regional league business from the 2014 part of 2014/15 to tidy up in the South East. London have tightened their grip on the SEAL table, with a second big win in SEAL match 2. London broke 2200 with 2203 and although Southampton were second they were 111 behind, on 2092. In a reverse of the first SEAL result, Southampton did finish ahead of Imperial who scored 2058. Sherman Ip and Bridget Evans (both London) were the top scorers in the match on 563 and 562. Alannah Garnham (Kent) scored 558.
Reading were fourth in the match on 2013, with Essex, Kent, Portsmouth and East Anglia, all tightly bunched 5th to 8th in the lower 1900s. The results leave London top on 30 points, with Southampton and Imperial on 27, with very similar aggregates. The top three are followed by Reading (23), Essex (21) and Surrey (19).
In the equivalent novice fixture, London also picked up maximum points on 1387, with Southampton in second on 1306 and Portsmouth in third on 1285, just holding off Imperial. In their third year of SEAL, this is a first team podium finish for Portsmouth at senior or novice level. Aurelie Hua (Southampton) top scored in match 2 with 507. The score also takes Portsmouth third in the novice table on 25 points. London (30) and Southampton (28) lead the way.
The third SEAL match will be extracted from scores shot at BUCS Indoors, but the current SEAL standings are available on the SEAL 2014/15 page.
