BUCS have confirmed that the 2021 Outdoor Championships are scheduled to go ahead at Lilleshall over the weekend of the 12th and 13th June as originally intended, At least, as far as it's possible to confirm anything in advance. The BUCS Outdoor section has links to full details.
If it goes ahead, it will have been 456 days - almost exactly 15 months - since the previous competitive student arrows were shot. BUCS Indoors 2020 squeaked in just before the very first lockdown.
For BUCS Outdoors 2021, there are, as you might expect, a lot of changes, the biggest of which are as follows:
SSS has formally abandoned its attempt to run a postal league, meaning that none of the regional leagues will be able to crown champions this season.
Elsewhere, the World University Summer Games were scheduled to be held in the Chinese city of Chengdu in August. These have now been postponed to a date TBC in summer 2022, see Internationals section. The Summer Universiades are normally held in odd numbered years and the 2023 games (Ekaterinburg) is not moving back.
As a side note to FISU, publishing news stories like this on 1st April is better avoided.
