Results from Round 2 of the E-League have now been published - there had been a delay with data processing. Round 3 of the E-League runs until the end of January, with scores to be submitted by 5th February. Why not pair this with your entry to BUCS Indoors, due by 18th January.
Round 2 saw a mere 13 points cover the top three and it was Nottingham who pinched the honours from Warwick. Their total of 2298 took top spot in the round by a single point. Oxford were third on 2285. There was a drop to the next batch of three teams - Loughborough were fourth just over 2200, with Cambridge and Durham just under. The result leaves Warwick and Nottingham tied on 29 points with Oxford on 26. Huddersfield and Birmingham have 20.
The result is Nottingham's third ever outright E-League round win and their first since February 2012.
In the novice table, Warwick were first with Nottingham second. Coventry were third, so Warwick go top with 29, Coventry on 28. Birmingham won the second compound team round, with Lincoln second in the round. Birmingham now lead by 5 league points here.
Louisa Piper (Nottingham) and James Woodgate (Warwick) repeated their Round 1 wins. Piper dominated ladies recurve by 14 with 589. Charlotte Llewellyn-Smith (Durham) prevented a Nottingham 1-2 with 575 ahead of 573 from Hannah Evans (Nottingham). Woodgate won the gents round with 592. Alex Rowe (Plymouth) and Yang Pei (Oxford) hit 584s, with Matthew Likely (Durham) also breaking 580. Top compounds and barebows also repeated from round 1 with Zara Green and Callum Platt (both Birmingham) and Simran Panesar and Matt Waters (both Nottingham). Top novice recurves in the round were Ramona Seremesic (Warwick) and Bo Zhang (Coventry).
In the overall standings, Louise Piper and James Woodgate have 40/40 points. Hannah Evens and Yang Pei are second on 37. Hannah Burnage (Warwick) is third in the women's standings on 30, ahead of Hariet Kelsey (Nottingham Trent) and Zoe Harley (Oxford) on 29 and 27. Alex Rowe is third in the gents on 35, with Ben Evans (Loughborough) on 33 and Wills Chiu (Warwick) on 30.
The results from Round 2 November were delayed, partly because of multiple entries. E-League organisers request that each archer only enters one score per round (per bowstyle if entering more than one bowstyle) - presumably your highest one.
On the subject of delayed results, NEUAL round 1 is being held as a postal. Results from this are mostly in, but some clubs were unable to shoot during Storm Arwen, so full results are unlikely before the new year. Amongst the 10 clubs to have entered scores so far are Manchester, who took a full part in a NEUAL match for the first time, fielding complete senior and novice teams. Results from NEUAL Novice Championships have been published however. On 11th December, hosts Liverpool scored 1245 to win, despite a close challenge from Huddersfield who scored 1233. Newcastle took third just on 1994, see current NEUAL standings.
