Provisional results from Round 1, Sept/Oct, of the 2021/22 E-League have now been published, the first full E-League round since February 2020. Links to the results are in the E-League section.
As they did in February 2020, Warwick took top spot in Sept/Oct 2021. They did so with a strong display, 4 points over the 2300 mark. Nottingham just eclipsed Oxford for second place 2268 to 2258, but nearly 100 clear of 4th placed Birmingham, with Huddersfield taking fifth spot with just over 2100. There were only 10 complete teams and only 13 teams with recurves all told, although historically, a lot of teams have not entered the Sept/Oct round but gone on to contest the other four. Coventry pipped Warwick to top novice team, with Birmingham top compound team.
Louisa Piper (Nottingham) and James Woodgate (Warwick) scored 590 and 594 to take the respective top spots. Yang Pei (Oxford) was second gent on 588, and there were 4 gents on 578. Hannah Evans (Nottingham) and Ffion Edgeley (Loughborough) were second and third ladies on 576 and 573. Zara Green and Callum Platt (both Birmingham) were top compounds, Simran Panesar and Matt Waters (both Nottingham) were top barebows.
Round 2 of the E-League comprises the month of November. Clubs are reminded that all scores can be shot in competition or in competition like conditions and that Round 2 scores must be submitted by 5th December. To refresh memories, Round 3 is December & January, Round 4 is February and Round 5 is March. You get 20 points for coming first in an individual round, 19 for 2nd and so on down to 1pt for 20th, so there is a theoretical maximum of 100 points up for grabs.
You do not need to enter a score in every round, so just because you didn't enter a score in round 1, it is not too late to enter. If your club hasn't signed up yet, you can do that with the Sign Up Form, see E-League section. Any queries, contact the EMG on studentarcherycommittee@@gmail.com.
The first big regional league weekend of the season is coming up. Over the 20th and 21st November, SEAL match 1 is taking place, alongside two thirds of BUTTS match 1 and all of SSS match 3.
