Reminder that Thursday 31st March is the last day on which you can shoot a score for Round 5 March of the 2021/22 E-League. Those scores must be submitted by Tuesday 5th April. Round 5 is the final round, so the last chance for E-glory. All scores must be Portsmouths, shot in competition or under competition conditions.
Results for Round 3 Dec/Jan and Round 4 February were published in one go on 22nd March - these are still draft and errors should notified to E-League organisers. Remarkably, the top 5 senior teams finished in the same order in both rounds. Nottingham were first, with Oxford pushing Warwick down into third. A little way behind that leading group of three, Loughborough were fourth ahead of Birmingham. Huddersfield (in Round 3) and Coventry (in Round 4) were sixth. Nottingham and Warwick had been level at the top, but now Nottingham have 59 points and a 4 point cushion, with Warwick on 55. Oxford have almost caught up on 54. Birmingham are still fourth overall on 42, with Loughborough on 41. Huddersfield are the leading non-BUTTS club on 37 in 6th spot. Cambridge and Coventry have 34.
Nottingham are heavy favourites to land their first E-League title - their previous best was 3rd in 2008/09 and 2010/11. Huddersfield never rose higher the Division 4 in the old E-League structure (in 2013/14 and 2014/15) and will therefore record their best ever E-League finish regardless of the outcome of Round 5. Coventry, too, are mathematically certain of beating their best finish which was 15th in 2019/20.
Coventry lead the novice table on 56 points with Warwick on 53. Nottingham are third on 44. Birmingham lead the compound team standings on 58, with Nottingham on 53 and Coventry on 49.
In the individual categories, the ladies recurve top 4 was identical in both rounds 3 and 4. Louisa Piper and Hannah Evans (both Nottingham) were first and second, ahead of Zoe Harley (Oxford) and Ffion Edgeley (Loughborough) fourth. Piper has won all 4 rounds so far and has 80, with Evans on 75, Harley on 63. James Woodgate (Warwick) and Yang Pei (Oxford) were first and second, then second and first over the two rounds. Woodgate now has 79 points to Pei's 76 going in to March. So Chun Ngai Ugo (Birmingham) and Max Harding (Nottingham) picked up third place in the rounds. Callum Henfrey (Oxford) is sitting third overall on 59.
Zara Green and Callum Platt (both Birmingham) lead the compound divisions by 5 and 6 points respectively. Matt Waters (Nottingham) and Alice Uloth (Newcastle) both have 9 point leads in the barebow standings. The novice recurve categories will be won by archers from Warwick (women's) and Coventry (men's). Amy Phelps leads Ramona Seremesic 74-72, whilst Bo Zhang leads David Bosmans 79-73.
