The much-postponed, "catch-up" BUTC 2022 will take place on Sunday 20th November 2022. Hosts will be Loughborough.
BUTC usually uses the same competitor eligibility rules as BUCS. However as BUTC 2022 was postponed from March, archers who graduated in summer 2022 and are no longer students WILL be eligible to compete for their former clubs, as long as they are affiliated to ArcheryGB for 2022/23.
Eligibility rules will return to normal at BUTC 2023, which should return to its usual March-ish slot. Institutions interested in hosting should contact UKSAA asap. The basic requirement is a hall that can fit 16 bosses.
2012 champions and 3-time runners up Loughborough may have never hosted BUTC before but they have a rich history in the event. Out of the 17 BUTCs held to date, Loughborough have made it at least as far as the QFs 14 times. They won in 2012 with a team of Tom Cram, Mat Cole and Laura Church, with three hits in their last three arrows taking them to a 15-13 win over Nottingham. They have also been finalists on three more occasions, in 2015, 2018 and 2019. Arthur Coveney appeared in all three of those silver medal winning teams, Ben Evans in both 2018 and 2019. The 2018 final was particularly notable as it was the only final ever to be decided by a shoot-off.
Entry form for BUTC 2022 will appear on the BUTC Tournament Info page.
