Last weekend there were the opening set of matches in NEUAL and SSS league match 2.
Lancaster became the first club of the season to post a 2200, with 2222 in their Western Conference match. The Red Roses finished well clear of Salford, with MMU Cheshire not recording a score at all. In the first Eastern Conference match, Bradford took the honours with 2103, with Leeds in second place on 2059. Hull were third on 1963. Teesside won the Northern Conference match with 1932, roughly 40 clear of Newcastle, with Sunderland trailing in third. Jay Tserkezie (Lancaster) scored 567 and was the only archer to break 560, although there were several high 550s.
The equivalent set of NEUAL novice matches were hampered by numerous no-shows. In fact only the Eastern match (which saw Bradford beat Leeds by 34, with Hull trailing) was contested. Lancaster and Sunderland won their novice fixtures unopposed.
SSS match 2 saw Edinburgh claim an altogether more comfortable win than in match 1, as Napier and Aberdeen both suffered 100 point drops week on week. Edinburgh's winning score was 2160, with Napier just edging out Aberdeen, but back on 2034 against 2023. Dundee were fourth on 1970. The top four finished in the same order as in match 1, which leaves the overall top of the table unaffected.
In the novice match, Edinburgh won convincingly with 1419 including a 506 and a 498. Strathclyde were second in the match, with Heriot-Watt (third in the match) staying second in the table.
See the NEUAL and SSS tables for the latest standings. This weekend there are two more NEUAL matches (E2 and W2) and the first half of BUTTS match 1.
