The first third of the BUCS Indoor Regional Qualifying took place on Sat 8th Feb in Bristol. Results for this fixture are available on ianseo, see the links in the BUCS Indoor section. The two remaining RQs are this weekend in Manchester (Sat 15th Feb) and the weekend after in Aberdeen (Sat 22nd Feb).
The three sets of scores will be combined to determine who will qualify for the National Finals, happening in Warwick (Sun 16th Mar). According to the BUCS website, "the entry list for National Finals will be published approximately one week after Regional Qualifiers". Last year the cuts were made at 521 for gents recurve and 502 for women's. The year before it was 521 and 497. Back in 2022, the figures were 507 and 487.
The scores will also be used by NEUAL, SEAL and SWWU as a match. No clubs from SEAL and SWWU are heading to the Aberdeen qualifier, so those two leagues will be able to declare a result after this weekend.
Elsewhere, NEUAL match 2 is in progress, with a mix of in person and postal scores. Results from SSS match 4 have not yet been published. The first half of TOUCAN div 2 match 3 has taken place. The weekend of 15th/16th will also see NEUAL Indoor Champs and SSS match 5.
There was also a varsity match between Ulster and Queens - part of what the universities are billing as the first ever multisport Varsity, between the Belfast-based duo. In the archery match, teams were the top 3 recurves plus the top 3 barebows. Ulster won the recurve side of the match 1322 to 1299, whilst Queens won the barebow side 1053 to 1038, with Ulster taking a narrow win overall 2360 against 2352. Full results are in the Other Fixtures 2024/25 page. The top four archers were only 8 points apart, with Kathryn Morton (Ulster) - a barebow - top on 459. Morton won 3 E-League rounds last seasons on her way to the E-League womens barebow title.
In E-League news, results for Round 3 Dec and Jan have not yet been published. Round 4 is February and given that many will be shooting at the BUCS Qualifiers, there's really no excuse for not getting involved. Score submission deadline for Round 4 is 7th March. Everyone can submit scores in Round 4 - you do NOT have to have submitted a score for any previous Round.
