Information and documentation for bids to host BUCS Indoors 2011 have been published on the BUCS website. The preferred dates for the Championship are Saturday 5th or 12th March 2011.
The deadline to submit bids is Friday 27th August - now less than three weeks away. BUCS' attempt to get this enormous competition organised further in advance is to be applauded, but unfortunately, this means the bid deadline is right in the middle of the summer holidays. BUCS have indicated that there may be some latitude here, so if your club are not able to put a formal bid document together in time but you think you may be interested in hosting, contact BUCS before the deadline. If you don't say anything now, you can't complain next March when you have to travel several hundred miles in an increasingly smelly minibus - and then several hundred miles back again.
Potential host clubs are reminded to have a lot of space and all the relevant official backing. Full details are in the documentation, available on the BUCS website.
Additionally, BUCS have performed an internal review, with the result that every sport will now have a dedicated Sports Manager and Event Co-ordinator. As far as archery is concerned, the new Sports Manager is Tom Gee, tom.gee@@bucs.org.uk, whilst the new Event Co-ordinator is Sarah Gandon, sarah.gandon@@bucs.org.uk. In the first instance, queries about BUCS Indoors 2011 should go to Sarah Gandon.
Queries about BUCS Outdoors 2011 should also go to Sarah Gandon. Queries about hosting BUTC 2011 should go to the usual UKSAA address, studentarchery@@yahoo.co.uk.
