Summer is over, wet and windy though it may have often been and the academic cycle begins again, bringing with it the next wave of student archers. Lots to talk about as always but I thought I would stick to the national competitions in the first editorial of the year.
BUSA had originally scheduled the BUSA Indoor Champs 2008 for Sat 8th Mar, but it appears that Sat 1st Mar is now the more likely date, which means BUTC's preferred date has become Sat 15th Mar. If your club is interested in hosting BUTC, you need space for 16 bosses, a small army of helpers and of course, the mighty ACME. Unlike either BUSA Championship, the hosts get to keep any profits, so email UKSAA if this sounds interesting. A BUTC bid submission date will appear in due course.
The ELeague is already up and running - scores for the first month of September/October must be received by Mon 5th Nov at the very latest.
BUSA Outdoors 2008 is currently scheduled for Sat 14th Jun hopefully at Lilleshall - interested parties should get in touch with Aaron Campbell at BUSA. Also, a small new event is planned for May with Regional League teams shooting a FITA 720/H2H. It is designed to be a stepping stone event for those hoping to go to World Student events, as well as being something to aim for in its own right. 2008 will be a test event - more details will be released as they are confirmed.
