York get BUSA as calendar settles [17/Jan/08]
With six weeks until the big day, York have been confirmed as the hosts of BUSA Indoors 2008. The tournament will take place on Saturday 1st March. BUSA still want entry forms entered four weeks in advance of the tournament - the deadline is Thursday 31st January! The entry fee is £11pp and there is no 'team tax' - the entry form and information are available in BUSA Indoor section and the BUSA website itself. The drawn out process has been a thorn in organisers' sides up and down the land, but now that BUSA Indoors and BUTC are both fixed, other regional matches can fall in to place.
In SUS, the H2H Event will be in Dundee on Sat 23rd Feb, the weekend immediately before BUTC. Will this piece of scheduling assist the Scottish universities at Durham? SUS Indoors will be in Aberdeen on Sat 15th Mar. The actual scores are finally in from the St Andrews v Strathclyde v Heriot-Watt match held before Christmas. Strathclyde won both the senior and novice matches although they were the only club to field more than one novice.
BUTTS Indoors at Loughborough has been moved to Sat 23rd Feb. The League Matches at Cambridge and Derby are provisionally on Sat 9th Feb and Sun 17th Feb respectively. In NEUAL, Durham v Liverpool v Sheffield is now being hosted by Liverpool on Sunday 24th February. Table-topping Liverpool will face two matches that weekend as they travel to Bradford the day before.
League Matches at Dundee, Oxford and Brunel are still currently without dates. Southampton v Sussex v Imperial and the SWWU leg at Bath are currently scheduled to clash with BUSA and BUTC and will presumably move at a later date. York will get 2008's schedule under way in a few days with a NEUAL match at home to Leeds and Lancaster.
