Buckle up for busy Feb [31/Jan/08]
With 20 scheduled fixtures, including seven on the weekend of the 23rd/24th, plus an interview with Ali Kirk of Swansea it will be a busy build up to BUSA and BUTC on the UKSAA site and around the country.
Some reminders to get through first. Thu 31st Jan is the last day for BUSA Indoor entries. You can enter up to a week late, but you incur a late fee of £5 per archer. The deadline for BUTC teams is Fri 22nd Feb. Also scores for the third ELeague month of December/January must be submitted by Tue 5th Feb. This coming weekend fifteen different clubs are in action with matches at Aberdeen, York, Oxford, Birmingham and Imperial.
Already the new year has seen wins for York, Edinburgh and Keele. Edinburgh knocked over Strathclyde and Dundee and travel to Aberdeen, likely to be their toughest test at SUS senior level. Edinburgh will also be looking for revenge at novice level as Aberdeen pinched the SUS Novice Championships title by a handful of points. York and Keele both won NEUAL matches, remarkably both sides scoring 2118 to do so. Lancaster's 2062 to come second to York did take them top of the table for a week, but Keele now sit two points clear. Leeds and Bradford won the two novice matches, Leeds are top of the novice table.
Elsewhere Oxford's BUTTS match at home to Derby, Nottingham and Warwick has been moved to Sat 2nd Feb. This means that unbeaten sides Warwick and Oxford will face each other twice over a crucial BUTTS weekend as Sun 3rd Feb sees Birmingham v Warwick v Oxford v Loughborough. Futher south, Imperial take on Surrey and Reading, with Surrey having already notched a score of 2200 and Imperial defending champions and perennial SEAL favourites. Also SWWU have confirmed their first match of the season with Bath hosting a leg on Sat 23rd Feb.
