The first batch of regional league fixtures of 2012 will come from SEAL and NEUAL, over the last two weekends in January. Essex, Kent and Southampton will play host to SEAL's second round after December's closely contested opener. NEUAL's third batch of matches includes the first Roses meeting of the season and the last two league champions Keele and Sheffield up against each other. So far, 3 NEUAL matches remain unshot - out of 8.
SUS and BUTTS archers must wait until the first weekend in February for the action to re-start.
Results from the first Irish Inter Varsity League match back in November have been published and it could hardly have been closer. Teams scores include 5 people and are largely shot on FITA 18's, full explanation on league table page. Limerick grabbed the honours with 2531, but were hotly pursued by Dublin IT on 2529 and defending champions Dublin City on 2526. Fourth placed UC Dublin were not far behind on 2491, whilst NUI Galway and UC Cork also broke 2400. Fourteen institutions entered teams, with twelve of them fielding complete teams of 5, see latest IIVL table.
Highest scoring individuals were Darren Wallace (NUI Galway) on 568 and James Ryan (UC Dublin) 552.
In other regional league scores news, there was a small correction to the second round of BUTTS results. Cambridge's senior team score had an Alumni score accidentally included. Once this was removed, the Light Blues' total was revised from 2153 down to 2113. Unfortunately for Cambridge this was also enough to knock them from fifth to sixth overall in the match, with Birmingham the beneficiaries. BUTTS League tables have been updated.
Results from E-League Round 2, November, have left Edinburgh firmly in control of Division 1. Warwick were second in November, overtaking Southampton in the overall table. Warwick took maximum points in Novice Division 1 and go second. Birmingham remain top, Edinburgh now third. Erik Rowbotham (Edinburgh) and Matthew Langton (Oxford) are clear co-leaders of gents recurve. Rachael Hutchison (Warwick) held on to her overall lead in the ladies from Lizzie Bell (Edinburgh) who top scored in November and is now in second.
The deadline to submit scores for E-League Round 3, December/January, is Sunday 5th February.
