The second SUS leg of the season took place at Edinburgh and Heriot-Watt on Sat 19th Nov. Edinburgh won the match with 2216, an almost identical score to the one with which they won the first leg. This time however, the winning margin was reduced from 97 to 36, Napier keeping their city rivals within sight. Edinburgh's top scorer was Margaux Meslé with 560, whilst Robbie Crick and Douglas Jardine were in 550s.
Edinburgh were pushed a little more than normal with nearest competitors Napier up 62 as against the first SUS match on 2180 and third placed Aberdeen up 39 points on 2122. Graeme Black (Napier) shot the highest score in the Heriot-Watt half of the match with 548 - remarkably his three team mates all scored 544. Johan Kangasniemi (Aberdeen) top scored in the match overall with 565. Jamie Paton (Strathclyde) scored 561, helping to make sure of fourth place for his side.
As the top three teams finished in the same order, the top of the senior SUS League table remains relatively unchanged.
Edinburgh won the novice team match very comfortably with a winning margin of over 200 points. Just over 80 points separated the novice teams between second and sixth, however. Jean Disset (Napier) propelled his side to the head of this pack with 503, the top score in the novice match. Napier go second in the novice table as a result.
The next set of SUS fixtures is not scheduled to take place until the start of February, as no venue/date could be arranged for the SUS Novice Championships.
