BUCS have announced that the 2012 Indoor Championships will take place at the Telford International Centre on Saturday 18th February.
Although a host university is still to be confirmed, this cavernous venue can play host to over 600 archers. This number means that if there does have to be a cap on numbers per club, it should be much higher than in previous years when it has dipped as low as 15. Securing such a venue also opens up the possibilities for clubs wishing to host such an event, but who might lack a suitable home venue. Is that you? Also worth remembering is that you should you want them, the AFS organising team are available to lend their considerable support.
See the article on the BUCS website in full and for more details about the venue, see the Centre's website. Depending on how the 2012 edition runs, it is possible that Telford could end up as the permanent home for BUCS Indoors, but this is a long way ahead.
Any clubs who might be interested in hosting should contact Chris Roberts at BUCS on chris.roberts@@bucs.org.uk as soon as possible. A proper application for hosts will be sent out shortly.
Telford International Centre is located 2 miles from junction 4 of the M54. Satnav fans can note the postcode of TF3 4JH. In fact it is less than 10 miles from Lilleshall NSC, where BUCS Outdoors has been in residence since 2001. BUCS Outdoors is provisionally slated for Saturday 16th June with entries to be submitted via the online BUCScore system. That date and a host uni are still to be confirmed.
