Nottingham made it two wins from two BUTTS league matches, adding a 2258 to go with their 2257. George Harding was the springboard with 587 a 566 also from Amy Middleton-Gear. Nottingham are now two points behind Warwick with a game in hand. Oxford broke through the 2200 barrier with David Longworth and Sam Johnson both chipping in 569s. Birmingham posted a very healthy 2171 for third. Derby trailed in fourth, but their top scorer Helen Bundy, broke her own BUTTS and All Uni Comps record for ladies experienced barebow with 520.
In the novice match, Oxford and Nottingham were neck and neck, but it was the Dark Blues who scooped maximum points on 1863 just ahead of Nottingham's 1860. Birmingham were not far behind, Derby were fourth. Oxford will top the novice table over the Christmas period. On the subject of novices, SUS Novice Champs were in Strathclyde, where Edinburgh won by over 200 points and took 5 of the 6 individual medals. Dundee were second with Napier surprisingly grabbing third (and the other individual medal) despite all of their ongoing accommodation problems.
Also November's ELeague scores are out. Edinburgh Warwick and Nottingham finish 1-2-3 for the second month in a row, well clear of the field in Division 1. Liverpool are the leading A side in Division 2. Nottingham won this round of the compound league to go second overall. Edinburgh-Nottingham-Keele-Warwick were 1-2-3-4 again in Novice Division 1. George Harding and Jenny Jeppsson (Edinburgh) picked up maximum individual points again. See the next editorial for a report on the NEUAL matches so far.
