Elsewhere, Exeter won SWWU match 5 (11th May, in Bristol) and have gone 9 points clear at the top of the senior SWWU table. The match was the first part of three Outdoor SWWU matches in three weekends, bringing the total number of SWWU matches this season to an unprecendented seven. Match hosts Bristol took second place on 2258, just ahead of Swansea's 2230, with Phoebe Noble (Bristol) top scoring in the match, going one point under 700. Bath fielded only two archers but were fourth, with Paul Cobee scoring 616 to break the senior gents barebow St George All Unis record by 25. In the novice match, there were only two complete teams, with Swansea beating Bristol.
Exeter now have 49 senior SWWU league points out of a possible 50. With two fixtures left, Exeter are all but assured of their 3rd consecutive and 7th ever SWWU senior league title. Bristol drew level with Swansea on 40 league points. Swansea have a slightly higher aggregate though (10,679 v 10,638) and stay second overall. Bristol can still match their best ever SWWU finish, 2nd in 2017. Also with two matches to go, the novice title race is a bit more open as Swansea now have 48 points against Exeter's 44 and Bristol's 43. Full tables on SWWU 2018/19 page.
SSS and NEUAL Outdoor Champs have also taken place. SSS Outdoors and H2H happened across the weekend of 20th/21st April. A first draft of the results appeared this week. Hosts Edinburgh won comfortably and averaged at 1100. Strathclyde took second spot. Edinburgh also won the novice and compound team events, with St Andrews runners up in the novices. Guillaume Andrieux (Glasgow) with 1229 and Johanna Meyer (Edinburgh) with 1197 were top individuals, both by over 100. Andrew Smith (Napier) hit 1107, whilst Jessie Yin (Edinburgh) broke four figures on the Metric II with 1036.
Andrieux and Natasha Homer (Edinburgh) won the Sunday H2Hs against Smith and Meyer.
Bradford also appear to have won NEUAL Outdoors (11th May, in Newcastle) senior team title, but full results have not yet been published.
This weekend coming (18th/19th May) is the last chance to shoot a qualifying score for BUCS Outdoors, with entries due in by 23:59 on Monday. Perhaps it's no coincidence that this weekend is a busy one. Matches include BUTTS Outdoor Champs (hosted by Loughborough at Bowmen of Glen), SWWU match 6 (in Exeter), plus friendlies at Southampton and Liverpool, see the Calendar page. UKSAA is happy to host results from friendlies in the Other Fixtures section - particularly with BUCS qualifying in mind.
