Now fast approaching, the deadline for entries to the BUCS Indoor Regional Qualifiers is Tuesday (21st Jan). Qualification scores must have been shot either at a competition or under competition conditions. Full details are on the BUCS website, but please pay due care and attention whilst entering. BUCS can - and will - refuse incorrect entries. This year the number of regional qualifiers is up to 3, to be hosted by Manchester Metropolitan (15th Feb), Napier and Bristol (both 22nd Feb).
The list of Qualification scores is shown in the BUCS Indoor section. Surrey are hosting a friendly on Sunday (19th Jan) with priority given to any archers who do not yet have a qualification score.
Regular regional league action does not begin until the weekend after that, the 25th/26th January, with the fourth rounds of SSS and NEUAL.
There has been a small correction to the results from SSS match 3 from November. Hana Scholz has now been correctly attributed to St Andrews rather than Aberdeen. As a result St Andrews team score went up from 2168 to 2171, but they stayed 3rd in the match, just behind Napier's 2174. Aberdeen however dropped 152 points and 2 places in the match - Heriot-Watt and Dundee the beneficiaries. Overall league positions remain unchanged, but 5th placed Aberdeen now lead 6th placed Heriot-Watt on points aggregate instead of by 3 clear points.
The set of teams scheduled to contest NEUAL's 4th round of matches includes last season's top two, Bradford and Durham.
Results from 5 individual NEUAL matches have now been published, all from back in November. There were wins for York, Lancaster, Teesside, Sheffield and Liverpool. Almost the same set of novice teams (Leeds instead of Sheffield) won the novice matches. Results from a further 4 scheduled league matches, plus the NEUAL Novice Champs are still outstanding.
Across the 5 fixtures, York's 2107 was the highest total by nearly 100 points, with Sheffield the only either side to break 2000. Similarly, Tom Braxton (Leeds) scored 581 and was only the individual to exceed 560. Teesside (1292) and Liverpool (1270) had the highest novice scores with no other side over 900. Fjolnir Kvaran (Teesside) was top individual novice on 506. The proto-NEUAL tables have been updated, although they don't have a great deal of meaning just yet.
