Early BUTTS Fixtures [08/Oct/13]
The BUTTS Field Championships took place on Sunday 22nd September, the BUTTS Team Championships are scheduled for Saturday 26th October.
BUTTS' Field Championship is, effectively, a pre season friendly and a chance to meet up before the season proper starts. There were nearly 30 present at March Hare Archers in Worcestershire and it was Warwick who ran out overall team winners. Tom Hall (Warwick) narrowly held off the challenge of Tom Currall (Derby) in the gents individual standings, whilst Kirstie Smith (Oxford) won the ladies event comfortably. In three weeks time there will be more BUTTS team of thee competition, this time the BUTTS Team Championships at Nottingham Trent. This is a local version of BUTC and it ought to be a highly competitive tournament to start the season, especially when you consider that the last 3 winners of BUTC are Oxford, Loughborough and Nottingham. It is also a good opportunity for B teams in the region, giving the dwindling number of B team spaces available at BUTC.
BUTTS 2013/14 as a whole promises to be a mouthwatering contest, with all 4 national titles held by teams in this league. The first regular league match is on Sunday 10th November at Cambridge and Nottingham. Warwick will defend the E-League and BUTTS League titles.
Blank league tables have now been published for all the leagues.
Tables for the Irish IVL 2012/13 have also been updated. There are only two match results available from last season, both from November, with wins for NUI Galway and Dublin IT respectively. Top individual scorer across the two legs was Darren Wallace (NUI Galway). DIT led NUIG in the overall standings, with UC Dublin not far behind in third.
