From a mammoth 737 initial entries, the target list for BUCS Indoors has now been released, see the BUCS Indoor section. A total of 54 bosses will accommodate what could prove to be the biggest British Universities championships ever.
If there are any entry drop outs, please contact bucsarcherychair@@gmail.com as soon as possible. Sessions start at 9am, 12pm and 3pm, but try to arrive at least 30 minutes beforehand, with your ArcheryGB cards handy. There will be catering in the venue. Parking is £4/vehicle.
Best of luck to all teams - and the organisers.
Who will emerge from Telford with the honours? The competition is likely to be quite close, whether it's for the trophy, for a spot on the podium or for the BUCS points that extend down to 8th place senior team. Tony Goad and his team of judges are likely to be quite busy.
BUCS Indoors 2014 will also be used as a match by three of the regional leagues. NEUAL's 4th set of fixtures, SEAL leg 4 and SWWU leg 3 will be extracted from the Telford totals.
Speaking of SWWU, SWWU leg 2 results have been published. The tournament was held on the same day as BUTC. Seniors shot a FITA 18, partly to enable those in Southampton to use their (doubled) Bray I qualifying scores in the match. Novices shot on a Portsmouth and so were not included in the senior team results.
Remarkably, the top 5 in SWWU finished in the same order as they did in SWWU leg 1. Bath enjoyed a slight lead over Swansea, with Exeter in third place, Plymouth fourth. Aberystwyth and South Wales also shot although with incomplete teams, whilst Bristol were absent. In the SWWU novice match (held on a Portsmouth), Bath narrowly beat Swansea and the pair are now level on points at the top. Aberystwyth's third place in the match takes them third overall.
See here the current SWWU standings - although these will be have changed again by next week.
Results from SSS Indoor Championships held in Aberdeen have also been published. These will be reviewed alongside the results from SSS match 4 (held Sat 8th Feb) once these are published. Edinburgh won the senior and novice titles at SSS Indoors and will also pick up both sets of SSS league honours.
