Archery GB have announced that a small amount of funding for affiliated College and University clubs, albeit only the English ones. For more information see the news story on the Archery GB website "FE/HE Funding Scheme now open". Awarded grants will be between £200 and £1,200, with an element of matched funding. The deadline for applications is Friday 13th December.
As the funding scheme comes from Sport England, only English university clubs are eligible. Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish student clubs are invited to contact the Archery GB Development Team for alternatives and further advice. More information is in Archery GB's "A Guide to Funding" document.
Archery GB's University Archery Clubs page can be found here www.archerygb.org/support/clubs/2859.php and as it says "the development of new university clubs and the support of existing university clubs is a focus for Archery within the Development Plan 2013-17."
Elsewhere, Archery GB also published target rankings following the 2013 outdoor season, see the Archery GB Tournament Rankings page. BUCS SAG Chair Steven Johnson has helpfully extracted the top students in the rankings - or at least those who attended a BUCS Championship this year. Top ranked recurves were Margaux Mesle (Edinburgh) and Ashe Morgan (Birmingham).
Full copies of the Student Rankings and also the FE/HE Funding Scheme application form are in the Resources section.
