Four more rounds! Four more rounds! Yes, first round results from the 2012/13 E-League are now live and whilst there may be four more rounds to go, there are already plenty of scores on the board. As the university season does not really kick off until November, the opening round of the E-League can provide easier points than the more heavily contested later rounds.
In recurve Division 1, Warwick took the 10 points, narrowly seeing off the challenge of Southampton by a single point 2268 to 2267. Defending champions Edinburgh, who pipped Warwick to the title back in March, were third back on 2240, with 2226 keeping fourth placed Loughborough well clear of Birmingham.
Liverpool A top Division 2 with a 2204 ahead of Warwick B and Napier A. London's A and B teams took maximum points in Divisions 3 and 4, with London A scoring the highest total of anyone with a 2272. Aberdeen A and Liverpool B sit second in Divisions 3 and 4. Aberdeen B and MMU Cheshire A are top in the early Conference table.
In novice Division 1, Edinburgh's 1389 was just enough to stay ahead of city neighbours Napier on 1382. Birmingham lie third.
In the individual recurve categories Luis Felipe Paulinyi (Southampton) and Sherman Ip (London) led the way, with Gareth Fleming (Queen Margaret) top of the chasing pack. Rachael Hutchison (Warwick) won the opening ladies recurve round just ahead of Margaux Mesle (Edinburgh).
Detailed Round 1 results are on the E-League website. Scores for round 2 must be shot during the month of November and must be submitted by Wednesday 5th December.
