Heriot-Watt and Strathclyde played host to the first SUS League Match of the season on Sat 10th Nov. In the match Edinburgh saw their way to 10 points with a senior team total of 2153, Douglas Jardine on 563. Johan Kangasniemi top scored for second placed Aberdeen with 551, the country's most northerly club finishing a couple of points shy of 2100. Napier were in third place on back on 2036.
Dundee were fourth, with Heriot-Watt in fifth, St Andrews sixth and Strathclyde seventh. Queen Margaret made their first ever SUS League appearance, in the form of solo archer Gareth Fleming. Although his "team" finished eighth and last, he did post the highest individual score in the match with 569.
In the novice match Edinburgh were top with a score of 1455, with Napier on 1377 the nearest challengers. Dundee were third on 1282.
You can see latest SUS tables here, although they will all be changing after Sat 17th Nov as all sides head to Edinburgh for the second leg.
Elsewhere on opening weekend, one half of the first BUTTS leg took place in Warwick. No scores have published, with the second batch of numbers set to come from Cambridge this weekend. However, as a teaser, the order of the teams in this half of the fixture finished has been released. Warwick will be ahead of Loughborough who will be ahead of Oxford who will be ahead of Nottingham. Loughborough lead the novice match.
Also being held over last weekend and this coming weekend (hopefully) were the first batch of NEUAL fixtures, Keele v Durham v Leeds, Sheffield v Lancaster v Huddersfield, MMU Cheshire v Bradford v Liverpool and York v Sunderland v Hull.
