With the start of the regular season now only days away, Edinburgh and Cambridge shared the honours in the opening "month" of September/October. With comparatively few unis entering scores for the month, the overall tables are slightly distorted, but it was a combined total of 2291 from Edinburgh that was only 7 points too good for Cambridge. The light blues fought back with 1396 in the novice team category, with Edinburgh second, a hundred points behind.
An impressive 574 from David Lange (Edinburgh) was enough to snatch the 20 points away from Robert Fryers (Cambridge), Thom Hutchins (Warwick), Andrew O'Connor (Keele), Ric Whalley (Cambridge) and Chris Butler (Warwick) all five of whom shot 572. A magnificent 579 from Emma Downie (Edinburgh) was enough for first lady, with Jenny Jeppsson (Edinburgh) 572 followed by Helen Markland (Cambridge) 562.
Andy Ward (Edinburgh) fired a titanic 593 to win the gents compound. Allison Parker's (Derby) 536 was the only lady compound score entered. The novice recurve divisions were won by Daniel Strange (Cambridge) with exactly 500 - quite remarkable so early in the year - and Alis Sewell (Edinburgh) 426.
Scores for November MUST be entered by 5th December. UKSAA and ELeague officials are in regular touch with regional league results, but it is up to individual unis to check their scores are entered, otherwise they will not count.
