Two pieces of BUSA News. Firstly, Marie Atkinson has moved posts within BUSA and is now Finance and Administration Manager. The position of Sports Programme Manager for archery (as well as gymnastics, hockey, squash, swimming, tennis, tenpin bowling, triathlon, trampolining and water polo) is Aaron Campbell. His email address is aaron@@busa.org.uk. The full SMG can be seen from the Resources section.
The second piece of news is that the BUSA Indoors entry forms are now available. The closing date for entries is Thursday 15th February and the entry form and information sheet are both available from the BUSA Indoor section of this site and the archery section of BUSA site.
Astonishingly the cost of entry has gone up yet again - it seems like I write this every year - now it costs a whopping £13 per person. Late entries will be accepted up to Thursday 22nd February, but will incur a £5 per entrant admin charge, i.e. late entries cost £18 per person. The team tax is still in place and is also £13 per team for the pleasure of having your team scores added together. To enter four seniors and three novices with senior and novice teams included in the BUSA results now costs a staggering £117, or £162 if you're late with the form.
Two facts are worth noting. Firstly the money won't be used to help fund the British student team go abroad in the summer, since archery is not included in the 2007 Summer Universiade in Bangkok - the 2008 FISU Champs are in Taiwan. Secondly, entry to BUTC costs £48 for two teams. The sheer scale of BUSA Indoors poses a serious logistical challenge, but it is to be hoped BUSA are not simply making a quick buck in an effort to keep numbers under control. £13 - lucky for some.
